My Reptiles

After repeated contact with MLReptiles' stock, I have started my own collection. So here are some photos I have taken of my own sweethearts.

Joss

Joss was my first bearded dragon. His parents were Lolita and Zuni, and he was a sweetheart. As with many of the reptiles I fall for, he passed away too soon.

Charles/Max Gunn

This boy is my second bearded dragon. He came to me as a rescue, and I feel bad because his name changes depending on the day. Sometimes I call him Maxton, sometimes I call him Charles, usually no matter what his last name is Gunn, but I feel weird calling a bearded dragon Gunn, so mostly I just call him beardie.

Cordelia

Cordelia started out life rough, refusing to eat for the first three months of her life. But once she started eating, she took off  like a shot, and never missed a meal. She was my first corn snake, and she was a sweetheart who loved to come out and just chill with me while I was editing photos, either under my keyboard or in the warmth of my shirt.

Unfortunately, she managed to escape fall of 2016; she was missing for six or seven months, then was found outside in a neighbor's yard in April of 2017. She was in terrible condition, had clearly gotten into a fight with a cat or some other fanged and clawed creature, and she didn't survive, but her last few days she was home, and safe, and loved, and warm.

Hendrix

Hendrix is my big snuggle-noodle. My super sweet old man, he came to me because he had an undiagnosed upper respiratory infection and had become skittish and just unlike his usual self, and he needed more care and attention than MLReptiles could give him at the time. He spent the summer with me recuperating, and I fell in love. Who wouldn't with this dude? His favorite activities are hanging out with me while I do household chores, and playing hairdresser.

Malcolm

Malcolm was meant to be my project boy: it was love at first bite. He tried all his tricks on me in the beginning, from thrashing to be dropped, trying to fling poo, to biting, he was definitely my problem child, and it made me love him all the more. He's an old-school bloodred, so both his colors and his temper have mellowed with age, and he's really coming along. Which is good, because I have new pissy-boys to deal with.

Angelus

Angelus is one of Hendrix's sons; he is an anery lavender, and he did not inherit his father's sweet temper. He is a super pissy boy, and I'm glad I had Malcolm first, because between Angelus and his brother Spike, they are worse than Mal ever was. But they are both starting to calm down as they mature now -- they're 2016s, so as of this writing, they're almost two years old, so they're starting to calm down finally, but I'm also not putting up with any of their shit any longer, because they're finally big enough where they could hurt me if they wanted to.

Spike

Spike is my other son of Hendrix; he is an opal, and he did not inherit his father's sweet temper. He is a super pissy boy, and I'm glad I had Malcolm first, because between Spike and his brother Angelus, they are worse than Mal ever was. But they are both starting to calm down as they mature now -- they're 2016s, so as of this writing, they're almost two years old, so they're starting to calm down finally, but I'm also not putting up with any of their shit any longer, because they're finally big enough where they could hurt me if they wanted to.

Jasmine

Jasmine is also a 2016, like both Spike and Angelus, but unlike them she is super sweet. She is a charcoal, and when she is big enough, she will be breeding with Malcolm. She is just gorgeous and I love her coloring, and I love watching her mature.

Zoe

Zoe is also a 2016, and she's my big, gorgeous girl. She's an anery het bloodred, and will be breeding with Mal when she's big enough, which at the rate she's growing will be sooner rather than later. She's curious and happy, and never been a pissy girl, and I love her.
